Letter to YOU, LGBT friends
Hi there,
So i heard that somewhere out in the world, today is #NationalComingOutDay !
And so i wish for you to know that I AM PROUD OF YOU!
You think i am crazy right? Because hey, how come you can be proud of someone you've never met?
Well that's easy to answer...when you see life with no hate, when you don't take life for granted and when you try to do your best every day and support everyone the best you can, being proud of someone just comes easy.
I grew up with my mother and she was always very open minded when we talked about this kind of stuff...on the other hand my father's family is very homophobic and is always making jokes about the gays which i honestly find disgusting because no one should be made fun of because of the way they are.
If you're gay, lesbian, trangesder or bisexual just own it! Own yourself, own YOU!
Remember this....you were born from your mother...but you were born alone...you breathe for yourself, you open your eyes for yourself, you feel for yourself...so who exactly owns how you should feel towards others?
Some years ago i was at school and a friend came to me and he looked me in the eyes and very nervously said "I am confused".
You know what i did? Nothing. I just kept looking at him waiting for him to elaborate.
He then looked down at his hands and started talking, because he knew that i would be there to listen to him, he knew i would not make fun of him, he knew he could trust me.
And believe me, in life, whether you're gay, straight, bisexual, lesbian or transgender, you just need someone you can trust.
I was the first person he ever came out to and after that day he would always call me and tell me about his fears of coming out to his family, about his fears of people at our school finding out...but guess what? He knew he was not alone, i was there for him and that helped him through everything.
So what i am trying to say to you is that you should not feel ashamed for loving someone.
"The worst crime is faking it."
Nowadays when you meet someone some time later they always ask you "Hey do you agree with the gays?" "Are you gay?" "Why don't you have a girlfriend?/Boyfriend?", like if not having anyone besides you automatically says that you're gay.
I am 20, and people still find weird that i don't have a boyfriend. Well guess what? I am happy alone and i do not intend to be in a relationship just so others can be happy, or dont find it weird.
Let it be!
In this life you only have yourself because true people nowadays are rare.
When my ex friends came out to me they found it weird my reaction, because i was neither shocked, nor disgusted.
I just smiled and the thing i always said was "I am proud of you".
So to you my LGBT friends, don't be afraid to come out, don't be afraid to let down your family, don't be afraid to disappoint the world because trust me in the end you'll only be disppointing yourself, because you'll realize you could have lived a fully happy life, instead of a fake happy life.
I support every single one of you and i really wish to see some change in this world towards the LGBT rights.
I found out a while ago that teenagers and even adults are still afraid to say "I have a Woman Crush" or "I have a Men crush" just because they are afraid of what others may think of them.
I just wish people would realize that our happiness comes from within ourselves not from others.
People come and go in this life and if you're not true to yourself who will be?
A while ago when i started having girl crushes i started having panick attacks, like i would literally stop breathing and overthinking it and i would shut people off.
Until one day i realized i could not be scared of what i feel because how can i live if i am scared of my feelings?
If i am scared of seeing a girl and saying to her "Damn you're sexy" or seing a guy and saying "Damn you're hot" then exactly what am i living for?
" We all have a part to play in creating a world where everyone, everywhere can be themselves. "
You see, life is never simple but if you can start for making things simple for yourself trust me that the rest will just fall into place.
Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself! Don't be afraid to tell "I am Gay" or "I am Transgender" or "I am Bisexual" just stop being afraid!
Fear only limits you and it will make it impossible for you to be happy.
Honesly my friends, i just wish for you to not be afraid, to know that hey i am here if you wanna talk :)
Wish you all a Fully happy life and that you find the strenght within yourself to live in this world, to own who you are, and to fight for what you want, because remember life is as short as a deep breath and your happiness is in your own hands.
With this i hope you all feel safe and PROUD of who you are :)
